Noah's Pudding Sharing at Pilgrim Congregational UCC

Observing a Middle Eastern tradition that celebrates the landing of Noah’s Ark, we organize a series of events that consist of preparation, distribution and promotion of a dessert called Noah’s Pudding. Most recently, our volunteers were the guests of the Pilgrim Congregational United Church of Christ on Jan. 31, 2010. After a brief presentation by our volunteers, the puddings were served. |

Cook & Share with Dianne Byrum

 In our first "Cook & Share" event on Nov. 14, 2009, a well known leader in our community, Mrs. Dianne Byrum, honored us by sharing her thoughts on the importance of dialogue and diversity in our community. She also shared a special recipe of hers with the guests. Niagara Foundation volunteers also showed the recipes of three delicious dishes. Interfaith Forum at University United Methodist Church

A nine week long Christian/Muslim Dialog Forum series have been held at the University United Methodist Church (UUMC). The series covered variety of topics including the concept of God, Quran and Bible, Prayer and Worship, Jesus, and Religion and Values of Democracy. The meetings are moderated by Darold Boyd from UUMC. At each meeting, one presenter from both faith traditions gave a presentation about the topic of the day. The presentations are followed by a Q&A session followed by conversations while having delicious refreshments.

2009 Dialog & Friendship Dinner

Niagara Foundation-Michigan (NF) hosted its 7th Annual Dialog and Friendship Dinner in Eagle Eye Golf Club on September 17, 2009, in East Lansing, MI. More than 150 distinguished guests attended the event. After the dinner several speakers, including Justice Stephen Markman, Senator Gretchen Whitmer, and Emeritus Prof. Donald Williams shared their thoughts on the theme of the event, "Dialog in a Globalizing World". The event also featured the presentation of 2009 Peace and Dialog Award to Lansing Mayor Virg Bernero. Click here to see pictures of this event. |
